Step 1: Connect your new programmable unit to a PC via USB and transfer an audio file to the drive. Use Audacity if necessary to adjust the audio clip volume.
Step 2: Remove the old buzzer from under the driver’s side dash. Improve visibility with a flashlight in the pedal area Position yourself beneath the dash and floor, looking up, to remove the old buzzer unit. Watch this video tutorial for assistance
Step 3: Reinstall the new buzzer following the reverse steps. Done!
For a headlight reminder, follow these instructions:
Step 4: Disconnect the battery.
Step 5: Remove the knee panel from under the steering column by removing two screws at the base.
Step 6: Remove the dimmer switch panel using a non-scratching tool like plastic or a knife.
Step 7: Next we will splice in the wire with the diode as shown in the diagram below. There are three included blue ‘vampire’ taps. You only need two. First locate the red w/ black stripe wire coming from the dimmer switch and splice into using the supplied blue taps or your preferred method.
Note: the supplied wire has a diode and is directional. The diode is marked with yellow tape and MUST be closer to the side with a blue and yellow wire.. See the illustration below.
Optional: disconnect the connector in the diagram above for ONLY headlight reminder and NO key buzzer.
Step 8: Run the wire through the hole with the other three wires and feed it out toward the steering column.
Step 9: Locate the BLUE/GREEN & BLUE/RED wire combo under the steering wheel column with a connector turning into RED & GREEN wires. Use a wire tap or your preferred splicing method on splice in the white wire to the BLUE/GREEN wire. Ensure a good connection.
Step 10: Reinstall all panels and reconnect the battery.
